Treatment optimisation is about more than seizure count.

For children with complex epilepsy, the clinical goal is not always simply to eliminate seizures. Treatment decisions may involve balancing seizure control against medication burden, side effects and the child’s cognitive, behavioural, social and overall quality-of-life outcomes. What We Know Now

  • Stage 1 pilot completed at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, funded through an initial Innovate UK grant.
  • Families and clinicians reported reasonable engagement, improved information quality and more focused consultations.
  • The approach was co-designed with LTHT's epilepsy specialist nursing team.
  • Stage 1 findings directly informed the platform refinements now being carried into further evaluation.
